The smarter alternative
Don't replace it
until you've talked to us.
Embossing rollers represent a significant capital investment. When one wears out or sustains damage, the instinct is often to order a replacement - but in the majority of cases, refurbishment is a faster, cheaper and equally effective solution.
We can re-engrave worn patterns, re-chrome degraded surfaces, repair damaged journals and restore rollers that have been written off by other workshops. Our team has seen most conditions a roller can be in, and will give you an honest inspection and assessment of whether repair is viable before you commit to anything.
Typical savings are 15-40% against the cost of a new roller, with lead times that are often shorter too.
If moving the roller is part of the problem, we can help there as well. Collection and return delivery can be arranged as part of the service, so the job is easier to manage from first assessment through to getting the cylinder back on your line.
Significant Cost Saving
Repair and refurbishment typically costs 15-40% of a new replacement roller - making it one of the most straightforward ways to reduce tooling spend without compromising output quality.
Pattern Restoration
Worn or damaged engraving is re-cut to the original specification. Where the original drawing is unavailable, we can reverse-engineer the pattern from a reference sample or surviving roller section.
Re-chroming & Surface Work
Hard chrome re-plating restores worn surfaces to original hardness and extends service life considerably. We also carry out cosmetic and structural repairs to journals, flanges and cores.
Collection & Return Delivery
Where required, we can arrange collection and return delivery so the roller moves through inspection, refurbishment and back to your site with less admin on your side.

The Process
How the Process Works
A straightforward three-step process - from assessment through to a refurbished roller back on your line.

Assessment & Quotation
Send us your roller - or photographs and measurements if you need a preliminary estimate. We can also arrange collection where that makes the process easier. We assess the extent of wear or damage and provide a clear, itemised quotation. In most cases we can turn around an assessment within 48 hours of receipt.

Repair & Refurbishment
Depending on the condition of the roller, work may include surface grinding, re-chroming, re-engraving, journal repair or a combination. All work is carried out in-house by our experienced team - we do not subcontract any part of the process.

Inspection & Return
The refurbished roller is inspected against the original specification before despatch. You receive a roller that performs to the same standard as a new cylinder - at a fraction of the cost. We can coordinate return delivery and aim to work to an agreed lead time that minimises disruption to your production schedule.
