Ancillary roller services including anilox, chrome and rubber roller support
Ancillary Services

Ancillary servicesfor the rollers beyond embossing.

A converting line depends on more than embossing rollers alone. We supply and refurbish anilox, chrome-plated and rubber-covered rollers with the same attention to specification, finish and production reliability.

80 Years' Experience

Collectively the team have more than 80 years of embossing experience.

Latest Technology

We combine traditional craft methods with the latest engraving technology.

Quality & Pride

Stringent inspection procedures at every stage ensure satisfied customers.

Excellent Feedback

Customers consistently provide an outstanding feedback rating.

One partner across the line

More than embossing.
Support for every roller that keeps production moving.

A converting line relies on a wider set of rollers than the embossing cylinder alone. Anilox rollers influence print quality, chrome rollers affect wear and release, and rubber-covered rollers control grip, pressure and handling through the line.

Bringing those requirements together through one supplier reduces admin, shortens decision-making and helps maintain a more consistent technical standard across the full roller set on your machine.

If you are unsure whether a roller should be replaced, refurbished or re-specified, we will give you a straightforward answer quickly and advise on the best route for the application.

And where transport needs organising, we can handle that too. Collection and return delivery can be arranged so the roller moves through the process without adding more coordination work to your team.

Anilox Rollers

Supply, engraving and refurbishment of anilox rollers for flexographic printing, with the cell volume consistency and ink transfer control that print quality depends on.

Chrome Rollers

Hard chrome coating and re-chroming for converting rollers of all types, restoring surface hardness, extending service life and improving release performance.

Rubber Rollers

Rubber covering, re-covering and profiling for nip rollers, draw rollers and specialist converting applications, specified to the hardness your process requires.

Collection & Delivery

Where needed, we can coordinate collection and return delivery so ancillary roller work is handled as a complete service rather than another logistics task for your team.

Service scope

Additional roller services
to support the full converting process.

Beyond embossing, we help customers maintain, refurbish and manufacture the wider range of rollers needed across production. That means practical support whether you need a new anilox roller, a de-chrome and rework route, rubber covering, or a roll body brought back to the right finish before engraving begins.

Anilox rollers

Working with our partners, we can supply a full spectrum of high-quality engraved anilox rollers for flexographic, packaging and glue roller applications.

We can refurbish existing anilox rollers or supply a new base engraved to your specific requirements, with chrome plating applied for durability.

Our screening library ranges from a fine 250 L.P.I. to a coarse 16 L.P.I., helping match the roller specification to the transfer, coating or print result your process needs.

De-chrome and chrome finish services

We offer a de-chrome service for rollers requiring surface removal ahead of refurbishment, reworking or a new finish.

Around 90% of the rollers we engrave are chrome plated. Chrome resists corrosion and is harder than the underlying carbon steel, helping textures last longer, reducing operating cost and supporting better machine utilisation.

A natural hard chrome finish can also be treated to produce a matt surface where reduced gloss is required, and we can also supply cylinders to a chrome mirror finish.

Rubber rolls

We can supply various types of rubber rollers and also provide a refurbishment service where an existing core can be recovered and returned to specification.

Roll grinding and turning

Roll grinding is an integral part of the business. If a roll body does not start with a good surface finish, the pattern is irrelevant.

Old rolls often need to be ground before a new pattern can be applied. Removing the textured surface enables accurate re-engraving and helps extend roller life.

Turning is another option for removing texture from a roller, taking away more metal at a faster rate than grinding when the application calls for it.

Roll manufacture

We can manufacture rolls from customer drawings or develop a design to your specification, depending on what best suits the project.

We routinely produce rolls for coating, laminating, printing, embossing, heat transfer and web transfer across products ranging from light films to heavy gauge metals.

Rolls can be surfaced with copper, nickel, chrome or thermal spray coatings including various types of ceramic. Super-finishing to 0 RMS is also available.

Embossing roller design remains a critical part of the converting process, often making the difference between exceptional product performance and just another consumer option.

The Process

How the Process Works

Whether you need a new ancillary roller or refurbishment of an existing one, the process is clear from first specification through to delivery.

01

Specification & Line Review

Tell us what the roller needs to do on the line, whether that is ink transfer, draw control, nip pressure or surface release. We confirm the specification, check compatibility with your process and provide a clear quotation before any work begins.

02

Manufacture or Refurbishment

New rollers are supplied or manufactured to specification. For refurbishment work, whether re-chroming, re-covering or re-engraving, the roller is stripped back and rebuilt to the agreed finish entirely in-house.

Inspection & Delivery

Before dispatch, dimensions, surface finish and coating or cover quality are checked against the agreed brief. We package rollers carefully for transit and can coordinate delivery to work to the lead times your production schedule requires.
